DESIGN PROCESS

An old WordPress website exisited but was out of date and was built on a theme that was no longer supported. It wasn’t mobile friendly either.

1. Time Management

Having just a three-week turnaround made this project a tough assignment as it included two main stakeholders plus the requirement to have regulatory links and content in the live site.

2. Research

Working closely with the two owners of the business whose first language wasn’t English, but still excellent, was made slightly more tricky as technical language had to be put into layman terms – even more so than usual. I had to draw out what they were meaning and clarify what they would like from a new site.

3. User Testing

On a test domain, and taking the feedback and brand stanards onboard, a test domain was set-up where initial test designs where made. Feedback as then gleaned from the client and then whittled down to their preferred choice. From that a wireframe was designed using Figma and discussed with the client to ensure the user jouney was clear and concise.

4. Team Management

A team of three (including and led by me) was put into place by me. This included a trusted graphic designer and another designer. Using Toggl, I set about the timeframes, with their input, on what needed to be done and by when to hit such a short deadline.

OUTCOME

The Tantum site is another financial services site that I’m proud of. The thinking in design terms for this site is a classy look being, serious but not overly so, with original photographs to be used within the site.

I wanted users not to feel overwhelmed with too many choices upfront and easy access to the client portal.

Whitespace was an important element and text broken-up dispersed with images.

Call to action (CTAs) were also important with users having an easy way to contct the business.
